10 things to know about the Actor Junior Pope

Junior Pope, also known as Pope Obumneme Odonwodo, a well-known Nollywood actor, drowned on Wednesday while filming a scene.

While returning from a film location, Junior Pope and three of his colleagues perished in their boat, which overturned on the Anam River in Anambra State.

 
After being pulled out of the river and given time to heal, he tragically passed away. 

Emeka Rollas, the president of the Actors Guild of Nigeria, announced his passing on Thursday and said that three more bodies have not yet been located. 

Eleven things about Junior Pope are listed below.

1. Although Junior Pope was born in Cameroon on May 7, 1984, he immigrated to Nigeria at an early age.

2. He was a model and actor from Nigeria who specialized in playing characters such as hitman, armed robber, criminal, and villain.

3. He is from the Enugu State town of Ukehe.

4. Junior Pope debuted as an actor in 2006 and has since been in over 150 Nollywood productions, including the films Bachelor Eve, Vengeance of Bullet, Bitter Generation, The Generals, Wrong Initiation, The Cat, Nkwocha, and Secret Adventure, to name a few.

5. The performer received his university degree.
